So, you are all moved off of Windows XP and Office 2003 and are now safely using Windows 7 or 8 and later versions of Office, right? We hope so. However, if you are not, here’s what could happen the day after Windows XP support ends on the 8th April 2014…
You come into your office on the 9th April 2014 to find that your computers have been attacked by Zero Day viruses.
Microsoft ceased to provide Windows XP security patches as of yesterday. New viruses have been released overnight. The cybercrims have been working on this for months just waiting for today. There are new viruses and there are no XP patches for the vulnerabilities that they exploit.
You call for help. Your service provider tells you “The only people that can help are Microsoft.”
Eventually you reach a Microsoft service agent.
During this call you will probably run through the entire repertoire of human emotions.
Avoid the 9th April 2014 being an uncomfortable day in the office. If you need help or advice with any aspect of migrating your smaller, expanding and mid-sized business away from Windows XP/Office 2003 to Windows 7, 8 or Office 2013 and Office 365 get in touch. Please contact us and we’ll be glad to see if we can help. Simply fill in the form on the right or call us on 01844 293 330.
